The property

The Luxardo De Franchi property covers a surface of appr. 50 ha., and is situated on the highest hill of the Colli Euganei (group of hills near Padova - appr. 50 km west of Venice - North eastern Italy), Mount Venda ( mt. 603). The property has been in the family for more than 80 years. The main surface is woodland, with coppices covering appr. 40 ha.. In ancient times it belonged to the monastery of the Olivetani, a religious order of hermits which was founded in 1160, and suppressed by the Republic of Venice during the 18th century.

D.O.C. vineyards cover appr. 11 ha., south-west exposure, enjoying an ideal climate as requested by the disciplinary specifications of the D.O.C. "Colli Euganei" (Aug. 13th, 1969).
